In 1325 it was destroyed, taking 75 years for its reconstruction, in the place where we can see it today.<\/p>\n
The interior of the church reveals a style that came from the great 18th century renovations, with a rich decoration in carvings and tiles that transformed the sober Franciscan temple into a church in Baroque style.<\/p>\n
In one of the interior chapels, there are the mortal remains of S. Gualter, one of the first Franciscans and evangelizers of the region.<\/p>\n
Inside, numerous works of art of sculpture, painting, carving and sacred art can be appreciated, highlighting works by renowned authors such as Soares dos Reis, Giuseppi Berardi and Roquemont.<\/p>\n
A visit to the sacristy is mandatory to appreciate a marble table, with colorful inlays, in the Italian Renaissance style.<\/p>\n
