Chapel of Saint Miguel<\/p>\n

The chapel is situated a little below of the castle of Guimar\u00e3es, it is believed that was in this chapel where the baptism of D. Afonso Henriques, first king of Portugal was made.<\/p>\n

This chapel is directly related with the country foundation, within the interior there\u00b4s a font where nearby is an enrollment that confirms the baptism of the king, you can also found graves of noble warriors who are also connected to the foundation of the country.<\/p>\n

In the 19 century Francisco Martins Sarmento did the restoration of the chapel but doing so he always tried to maintain the original architecture of the chapel. If you decide to visit the chapel we hope that you host with us, if you decide to do so keep in mind our hotel is only 15 minutes from the chapel.<\/p>\n
