{"id":6906,"date":"2023-10-29T12:52:48","date_gmt":"2023-10-29T12:52:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/emajboutiquehoteldev.e-gdsbookingsuite.com\/?p=6906"},"modified":"2023-10-29T14:33:57","modified_gmt":"2023-10-29T14:33:57","slug":"sao-nicolau-emaj-portugal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/emajboutiquehoteldev.e-gdsbookingsuite.com\/en\/sao-nicolau-emaj-portugal\/","title":{"rendered":"S\u00e3o | Nicolau"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>S\u00e3o Nicolau<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\">S\u00e3o Nicolau, vimaranense&#8217;s scholastic festivities that date back to, at least, the XVII century, and they are linked to the padroeiro saint of the students.These are academic traditions that are one of the oldest in the country, along with Coimbr\u00e3s, have unique characteristics, highlighting the participation of the olders with the newest people, which allows generations and <em>generations<\/em> of Nicolinos to gather every year between the 29th of November and the 6th of December in Guimar\u00e3es.The Nicolinas are festivities rooted in our culture and history.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\">\n<p>On November 29th, the mythical Pinheiro takes place: A procession that announces the beginning of the student festivities, which will last for a week.This is the longest night of the year in Guimar\u00e3es, with the people of Guimar\u00e3es \u2013 youngest and older \u2013 facing the cold and rain in the parade that passes through the city, accompanying a tree with the rhythm of drums and snares.Once the festivities were inaugurated with such a pagan procession, the Rouvalheiras followed (on a date never announced), the Novenas, the Ma\u00e7\u00e3zinhas, the Dances of S\u00e3o Nicolau, the Posses and the Preg\u00e3o, a scathing satirical speech, in the good spirit of Gil Vicente, recited in a very loud voice.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Now I want to hear you in amazement<br \/>\nThis is where I end this Auction.<br \/>\nGuimar\u00e3es, once again, spoke louder<br \/>\nFor IT WAS, IS and WILL BE THE SOUL, THE SOUL OF THE NATION&#8221;<br \/>\n-The Auction of S.
